Festus 253 Shuts Out DeSoto SMCI 10-0 in Firework-Filled Finish 🎆⚾️

What began as a tight pitcher’s duel quickly turned into an offensive showcase for Festus 253. Both teams stayed scoreless through the first two innings, trading strikeouts and defensive plays—including a highlight moment in the top of the 3rd when #16 Gunnar Hosay pulled off a slick tag-out at home to keep SMCI off the board.

But the bottom of the 3rd was the turning point.

Festus exploded with a rally that felt like early July 4th fireworks. #14 Brennan Ervin opened the floodgates with a 2-RBI single. #72 followed with a massive 2-RBI triple, and #30 capped it off with an RBI single. Just like that, it was 5-0.

Festus didn’t slow down. In the bottom of the 4th, #16 led off with a double and Ervin stayed hot, ripping a 2-RBI double to extend the lead. #72 added yet another RBI single, continuing his big night at the plate.

In the 5th, Ervin again put the finishing touches on the game with a walk-off RBI double to secure the run-rule victory at 10-0.

Ervin was unstoppable, going 3-for-4 with 5 RBI, a run scored, and was the offensive spark all game long.
