Rock 283 jumped out early with hits from Kylar Huckfeldt (#24), Cayleb McKenna (#17), Nate Estopare (#1), and Brayden Burke (#7), taking a 4-0 lead in the 1st.

DeSoto SMCI answered with a run, then tied it 4-4 in the 3rd with a double by Jess Ketcherside (#34).

In the 5th, DeSoto exploded for 6 runs behind hits from George Heine (#27), Max Rozyki (#85), and Will Weber (#5), capitalizing on a throwing error to lead 10-4.

SMCI added 2 more in the 6th to make it 12-5. Rock fought back in the 7th with key hits and a 2-RBI double from Burke (#7), cutting it to 12-10, but DeSoto closed it out to seal the win.
