Grandview Eagles Fall To Jefferson R-7 After Surrendering Big First Inning

The Jefferson BlueJays defeated the Grandview Eagles 15-0 on Wednesday thanks in part to nine runs in the first inning.
The Jays got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Bo Davis doubled, scoring one run, Nolan Naucke singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Rowen Boyer singled, scoring two runs, Evan Botkin singled, scoring one run, and Nate Breier doubled, scoring three runs.
The BlueJays scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. Quinn Boyer singled, scoring one run, Mike Pemberton induced Naucke to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Michael Budt singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Nate Breier singled, scoring one run.
Brock Poole started the game for Grandview. The starter allowed four hits and eight runs (five earned) over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking three. Naucke stepped on the bump first for Jefferson. The starter surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking none.
Charles Stulce led the Eagles with one hit in one at bat.
Jefferson tallied 10 hits in the game. Nate Breier led Jefferson R-7 with four RBI's and went 2-for-2 on the day. Oliver Klump led Jefferson with three BB's. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. The Jays ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game. Jefferson turned one double play in the game.
